Sulfur trioxide sulfation process The sulfation reaction is carried out in a membrane reactor. The molar ratio of sulfur trioxide to fatty alcohol is controlled at 1:1, and the concentration of sulfur trioxide is 4%. The average reaction temperature is about 34 ℃. Because sulfate is unstable in acidic medium, it is neutralized with monoethanolamine immediately after the sulfonation reaction is completed. The addition amount of monoethanolamine is continuously controlled by pH meter, and the product is obtained when the pH value reaches 7~8.5.
With chlorosulfonic acid sulfonation process this process has two methods, continuous and intermittent, batch process cycle is longer, and part of the ester hydrolysis occurs, reducing the conversion rate of the ester. The product has deep color and low quality. The continuous law is of high quality. The continuous method operates as follows.
Lauryl alcohol and chlorosulfonic acid are put into the reactor at a molar ratio of 1: 1.02, and are pumped into the atomizer through a circulating pump. The ratio of circulating material to fresh feed is controlled at 100: 1, and the reaction temperature is maintained at about 28 ℃. The atomized material enters the degassing pot to remove the by-product hydrogen chloride and then enters the neutralization kettle, and is neutralized with monoethanolamine to a pH value of about 7~8.5 as the end point. The conversion rate of alcohol in this process can reach 95% ~ 96%.
